So here’s the million dollar question, have Mercedes shown their true pace? Because if they have, they’re in trouble. Ferrari look in scintillating form and you have to say, they are the favourites going into the first race in Australia. McLaren have another torrid week and Red Bull are starting to show what kind of a car they really have. In this post, I talk about the past four days action at the second test in Barcelona.
Well, what can I say? Mercedes look to be the team to beat yet again, or are they? Ferrari are showing decent pace and are McLaren ruminating from 2015? In this post I talk about what we’ve seen over the past four days of the first Formula 1 test in Barcelona. I won’t talk about every team in detail but you’ll get the low-down with what went on this week.
During the week, we were all stunned by the news that newly-crowned World Champion, Nico Rosberg had retired from Formula 1. When I first heard of the news I thought it was a hoax and so did everyone else. It’s a very bizarre decision but we must respect it. His only goal was to win the World Championship and he’s done exactly that. A question that immediately popped into our heads was; who would partner Hamilton next season?
It was all looking good for Lewis Hamilton at the Malaysian Grand Prix, that was, up until lap 43 where it all went horribly wrong. The camera switched to him on the TV and fire was erupting from the back of his W07. I held my head in my hands as did Hamilton once he got out of the car. The question that popped into everyone’s mind immediately was: can he still win this year’s Drivers’ World Championship?
