I haven’t wrote about Formula 1 on my blog in a while but let’s be honest, there hasn’t been much to talk about. At time of writing, Mercedes’ have just clinched the 2015 Constructors’ Championship and in two weeks time, Hamilton could win the Championship, the question is, what does he need to do in order to clinch his third world title?
Well firstly, he needs to win the race and Vettel (who now sits ahead of Rosberg in the standings as Rosberg retired at the Russian Grand Prix due to a throttle issue) needs to finish third or below. If Vettel finishes in second, it’ll go onto the next race. Hamilton basically needs to score nine more points than Vettel and two more points more than his team-mate, Rosberg.
I do feel a little sorry for Rosberg as he’s had two DNF’s in the last four races but Hamilton has simply been the better driver and deserves to win this year. (Hamilton has only had one DNF and that was in Singapore by the way.) Vettel is second in the standings and just shows how consistent he is. If Ferrari can improve their power unit for next year, Mercedes’ will not be as dominant as they have been for the past two years. However, if Mercedes’ improve their power unit and sort out the little gremlins they’ve been having, don’t be surprised if they wrap up their third Constructors’ Championship title before rounds 13 or 14 next year.
Short and sweet from me today and you can expect my next post on Formula 1 to be the 2015 Formula 1 Season Review shortly after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on the 29th of November.
