Apple in 2014

2 minute read

It’s been a while since my last post so this may be a long one! I am going to talk about what’s in store for Apple this year and the products they may release. We’ll start with the iPhone 6. Firstly, expect the iPhone 6 to come in two screen sizes. I’m going to predict it’s going to come in a 4.5-inch screen and a 5-inch screen. Times have moved on in the smartphone market and any screen size below 4-inch is now considered as small. Just look at the majority of the HTC and Samsung phones, they are huge.

Next, and although we haven’t heard a lot about it, a MacBook Air with Retina display. I would buy one instantly. I have a MacBook Pro with Retina display and I’m going to be honest and say I don’t make the most of it in terms of how powerful it is, that is why a MacBook Air would suit me better. I love how thin and light the Air is and all it’s missing is a Retina screen, the design is world-class and they look sublime. Expect the iPhone 6 and MacBook Air with Retina display to be released towards the end of 2014. Finally, an iWatch. I did talk about this briefly in a post a while back. Recently, there have been a few concepts relating to the iWatch but the design remains unknown and at this time, I can’t really say much about it.

Software next. I’ll only be talking about iOS 8 though. iOS 7 was the biggest change in iOS history and it’s fair to say, right now, there are still issues with iOS 7. That’s not to say it’s not brilliant, it is. iOS 7 was created in one year so if you expected it to be perfect and for there to be no issues, you’d be wrong. At time of writing, Apple are working very hard on iOS 7.1 which looks to be a fantastic update. I’m not sure what Apple have planned for iOS 8, I’d expect all bugs that are in iOS 7 right now to be gone but feature wise I’m really not sure at the minute. I have missed out a few other products but expect it to be a massive year for Apple.
